UC Davis student remembered by friends -

DIXON, CA - Friends of a missing UC Davis student gathered to reflect on her death after remains were discovered by searchers Friday.

The body of 19 Year Old Linnea Lomax was found near the American River in East Sacramento.

Lomax was well known for being heavily involved in her College Life Christian Fellowship group. Members of the group got together at a home in Dixon to pray and talk about what happened.

Some of the members were at the discovery site just south of Glenn Hall Park Friday morning - where searchers found the badly decomposed body of 19 year old Linnea Lomax.

The cause of death is still being investigated, but officials say there were no signs of foul play.

Search crews had been looking for Lomax since she was reported missing in Late June.  Many of her College Life Christian Fellowship members participated in several of the searches.

They are extremely sad, but knew there was a chance that Lomax would not be found alive.

"The search was so difficult because you go through these emotional roller-coasters of having such high hopes and having so many possibilities and none of them looking great," said Linnea's friend and Bible study leader Sarah Johnson.

Members of Linnea's bible study group said Lomax began acting strange and didn't look well just days before she went missing after leaving an outpatient therapy center. Friends say they offered their support - but say Lomax refused their help.

The Family of Linnea Lomax plan to hold a press conference at Cold Springs Community Church in Placerville Tuesdsay morning September 11th at 10:00 AM.

A family spokesperson wrote a statement which reads:

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the community of friends old and new that has given sacrificially to the search for Linnea. The words of encouragement and support, and the heartfelt

sympathy are greatly appreciated. At this time the Lomaxes are surround by family and many friends who are seeing to their needs.

The family's church, Cold Springs Community Church, has invited everyone who has poured their heart and soul into finding Linnea to a special church service to be held Sunday at 10:30 AM.

The church is located at 2600 Cold Springs Rd, Placerville,

CA 95667. A service to celebrate Linnea's life will be scheduled in the coming days. Cards may be sent to PO Box 307 Coloma, CA 95613

The Sacramento County Coroner's Office said it is still investigating the cause of death; however, foul play does not appear to be a factor at this point in the investigation.  A cause of death might not be determined for several months.
