Missing UC Davis Student's Mother Found the Body, Signs of Hanging - KTXL

A UC Davis student apparently hung herself after leaving a Sacramento mental health facility in June.

Linnea Lomax’s mom said she was the one who found the 19-year-old’s body in an East Sac park last Friday.

Lomax’s parents talked with media reporters Tuesday morning, describing the moments when they found their daughter’s body.

Marianne Lomax says she was with a handful of friends when they smelled something odd in Glenn Hall Park on the north side of East Sacramento.

She says she walked around smelling plants and brush to find the source of the odd odor, making her way to what she described as a beautiful area near the river. It was there that she found the body of her daughter, with what she called apparent signs that Linnea had hung herself.

Marianne said she had been praying that God would help her find her daughter, and she says God answered her prayers.

Lomax was taken to a mental health facility along Howe Avenue over the summer after her Freshman year at UC Davis.

She was last seen leaving the clinic on June 26, without her phone, wallet or medication.
